Its “Qualifications Generally Recognised” list includes RCVS-accredited UK degrees, so UK graduates generally register directly without further examination; a degree not on the list routes through the AVE (Australasian Veterinary Examination — written + clinical). Registration is with the state/territory boards in Australia and with VCNZ in New Zealand on the same recognition footing. Canada: the NEB (National Examining Board, run by the CVMA) issues the Certificate of Qualification (CQ) — the prerequisite for every provincial licence. Graduates of CVMA/AVMA-accredited programmes (including the AVMA-accredited UK schools) take the NAVLE-centred short path; non-accredited graduates sit the full sequence BCSE → NAVLE → PSA + CPE. Note that reciprocity is asymmetric and dated — e.g. the RCVS recognises Australia’s NVE only for June 2000–September 2019 and the AVE from September 2019 onward.
