The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is the statutory regulator of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in Great Britain. It maintains the register, sets education and training standards, and runs the registration assessment. A registrant’s status is checkable on the GPhC register, which from 2026 also records the independent-prescriber annotation for newly-qualified pharmacists.
