Physiotherapy is the largest allied health profession. In the UK a physiotherapist must be registered with the HCPC (an HCPC-approved degree, or the international route for overseas-trained physios). Internationally: the US uses the NPTE (via FSBPT) and state licensure; Australia uses the APC (written + clinical exam) and AHPRA registration; Canada uses CAPR (credential evaluation + the PCE/CPTE) and provincial licensure. The structure generalises across the 15 AHP professions, but each profession’s overseas-assessment body differs.
