The General Dental Council (GDC) regulates the UK dental team. It registers dentists and Dental Care Professionals (DCPs) — dental nurses, dental hygienists, dental therapists, dental technicians, clinical dental technicians and orthodontic therapists. A registrant’s status is checkable on the GDC register. Note that GDC registration is separate from the NHS Performer Number required to deliver NHS dentistry.
