GPhC Part 2 — the pharmacy technician register

✔ Verified by Verifera

The General Pharmaceutical Council keeps three Great Britain registers — pharmacists (Part 1), pharmacy technicians (Part 2) and premises. Part 2 is the load-bearing field: a verification check must read which register part, not just presence.

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) regulates pharmacy across Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and keeps three registers: pharmacists (Part 1), pharmacy technicians (Part 2) and pharmacy premises. For a technician the load-bearing field is the register part — Part 1 (pharmacist) versus Part 2 (technician) — so a verification check must confirm the person is on Part 2, not merely “on the GPhC register”. The protected title and the Part-2 register are GB-only; Northern Ireland is regulated separately and does not yet register pharmacy technicians at all.
