Northern Ireland is not the same as Great Britain. Pharmacy technicians are not currently a registered or regulated profession in Northern Ireland. The Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI) regulates pharmacists in NI and holds that register — but it does not yet register pharmacy technicians; the PSNI states it is working with the NI Department of Health to bring technicians into registration “as soon as possible”. This is a correction-grade nuance: do not state “NI technicians register with PSNI” — today there is no statutory NI technician register. The protected title and Part-2 register are GB-only (GPhC), so a “pharmacy technician” working in NI is not verifiable on any UK technician register. The position is expected to change — verify the live PSNI statement at publish.
