Social Care Wales — the Welsh register

Social Care Wales regulates social workers in Wales under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016. Fees are flat: application, the annual fee and the 3-year renewal are each £80. The public check is free — Search the Register at scwonline.wales. Like Scotland and Northern Ireland, the register also covers the wider social care workforce, so a check must confirm the person is registered as a social worker, not merely “on the register”. For internationally qualified applicants, Wales runs its own inbound assessment: a £350 qualification assessment plus a possible £200 aptitude test.
