HCPC registration

✔ Verified by Verifera

The UK route for the 15 HCPC professions: an HCPC-approved degree (or apprenticeship) meeting the Standards of Proficiency, then registration — after which the profession's title is protected.

For all 15 HCPC professions the UK route is the same shape: complete an HCPC-approved degree (BSc/MSc, or a degree apprenticeship) that meets the Standards of Proficiency, then apply to join the register. Once registered, the professional title (e.g. “physiotherapist”, “paramedic”) is protected — using it without registration is an offence. Registration is renewed every two years.
