The Great Britain pathway runs through GPhC registration. Applicants need a GPhC-accredited or recognised pharmacy technician course or qualification at a minimum of level 3 (RQF) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland or level 6 (SCQF) in Scotland, or an equivalent; apprentices in England must also pass the apprenticeship end-point assessment. They also need a minimum of two years’ work-based experience in the UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands. Registration is on Part 2 of the register, which relates to pharmacy technicians. Registrants then maintain their registration annually: under the GPhC revalidation framework, the records for each annual registration period are four CPD entries, a peer discussion and a reflective account. The deadline for registering is five years from the start of the course, or two years after its end, whichever comes first.
