GOsC Registration Assessment
Verified reference for UK professional registers, credentials and career pathways. Every entry shows its sources and last-verified date — the “Verified by Verifera” mark appears only when all facts are in-window.
GOsC Registration Assessment — the overseas / non-RQ route
An applicant without a GOsC Recognised Qualification does not auto-register — they go through the GOsC Registration Assessment testing equivalence to the Osteopathic Practice Standards: qualification assessment (£690), Further Evidence of Practice (£690), and an Assessment of Clinical Performance in the UK (£910), then a registration application. A special pathway exists for OCNZ-registered New Zealand osteopaths.
✔ Verified by VeriferaGuideThe osteopathy name-collision trap — US DO is a physician, UK osteopath is not
The single most-often-wrong fact in this domain: a US DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) is a FULL PHYSICIAN with prescribing and surgical rights, while a UK / Australian / New Zealand osteopath is a non-physician manual therapist. Never let a US source define the UK role; a US DO seeking UK osteopathy registration uses the GOsC Registration Assessment like any other overseas applicant.
