Overview

In this field-based role, you drive sales growth and margin performance across Scotland and Cumbria, fostering new business while strengthening relationships with customers and distribution partners. You’ll own the territory, build a robust pipeline, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver sustainable growth. Responsibilities

Achieve and exceed sales, margin, and territory targets
Identify, qualify, develop and close new sales opportunities
Grow the customer base through proactive prospecting and business development
Develop direct/OEM customers and distribution opportunities
Build long-term customer relationships and understand needs
Manage enquiries and opportunities through to profitable sales
Provide high level customer service and timely follow-up on quotations and issues
Develop a strong sales pipeline and contribute to territory forecasts and budgets
Collaborate with internal and external sales colleagues and senior stakeholders
Plan and target the territory with a proactive, commercial approach

Key requirements

Proven successful sales experience with a track record of growth
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good technical aptitude and ability to understand product drawings and materials
Strong organisational, analytical and project management skills
Initiative and strategic thinking to manage the territory
Experience in power transmission, chain drives or conveyors advantageous
Sales-related or technical qualification would be beneficial
Self-motivated and commercially focused
Ability to travel regularly across the territory
