Area Sales Manager - UK North & Scotland - Global OEM

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a globally recognised manufacturer of bearings, precision mechanical components and industrial motion technologies in a key Area Sales Manager position covering Yorkshire, the North East and surrounding areas.

This is an established territory with significant scope for further growth across OEM, MRO, industrial distribution and end-user markets.

We are looking for a commercially driven, technically credible sales professional who understands how to develop industrial accounts, identify new opportunities and build long-term relationships across engineering and manufacturing environments.

The Role

As Area Sales Manager, you will take ownership of sales development across your territory, managing existing customers while proactively identifying and converting new business opportunities.

You will:

• Develop sales across OEMs, distributors, MRO customers and industrial end users
• Manage and grow an established portfolio of key accounts across the territory
• Identify, target and convert new business opportunities
• Build relationships with Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, Operations and Commercial decision-makers
• Provide a consultative, solutions-led approach to customer requirements
• Develop opportunities across bearings, rotating equipment, mechanical power transmission and associated industrial components
• Conduct regular customer visits, site meetings and technical/commercial presentations
• Work closely with internal technical, customer service and commercial teams
• Manage quotations, commercial negotiations, pricing and sales opportunities
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and deliver sustainable territory growth

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in experienced Area Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Territory Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Technical Sales Engineers and Field Sales Engineers from industrial engineering backgrounds.

Ideally, you will have experience selling one or more of the following:

• Bearings
• Mechanical Power Transmission
• Gearboxes
• Geared Motors
• Electric Motors
• Chain
• Couplings
• Belting
• Linear Motion
• Seals
• Industrial Components
• Rotating Equipment
• MRO Products
• Engineering Components

Experience working with bearing manufacturers, specialist bearing distributors, power transmission distributors, engineering distributors or industrial MRO businesses would be particularly relevant.

You should be:

• Proven within B2B industrial or engineering sales
• Comfortable developing both existing accounts and new business
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
• Technically credible when speaking with engineers and maintenance professionals
• Confident managing a geographical sales territory autonomously
• Experienced in account management, business development and solution selling
• Proactive, driven and comfortable opening new doors
• Able to build long-term relationships at multiple levels within customer organisations
