Project Leader

Overview

As a Project Leader, you will steer the design phase of Battery Energy Storage System projects within a fast-growing energy sector team. You will work in a cross-disciplinary project triangle to ensure technical excellence, constructability, and commercial alignment. You’ll lead design from outline to handover, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, mentor colleagues, and build strong client relationships. This role blends design engineering with project management, offering growth toward chartership and broader expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design phase from outline to detailed design through construction and handover
• Coordinate the project team (HV/LV electrical, protection, control, civil, geotechnical, BIM modelers, specialists) to deliver on programme, budget, and quality
• Collaborate within a project triangle with a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to align technical, constructability, and commercial aspects
• Undertake design within your own discipline
• Mentor and develop less experienced colleagues
• Build and maintain positive client, operational, and technical assurance relationships promoting a one-team approach

Key requirements

• Degree in Engineering (electrical or civil engineering preferred but not essential)
• Working towards professional qualification
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
