Overview

In this role you will lead the design and project management of water and wastewater schemes within a multidisciplinary team. You will drive design from outline through detailed stages, coordinating specialists and ensuring delivery on time, budget, and quality. You’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to promote a unified approach and support your path toward chartership. The role offers flexibility and real opportunities to see designs come to life in a dynamic design‑and‑build environment.

Responsibilities

Lead design from outline to detailed design and through construction, commissioning and handover
Coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists to meet programme, budget and quality targets
Mentor junior colleagues and share design expertise
Maintain strong client and internal stakeholder relationships promoting a one-team approach
Work within a project triangle with Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to balance technical, constructability and commercial aspects
Support delivery across water and wastewater projects within Yorkshire Water frameworks and AMP8 initiatives

Key requirements

Accredited Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Process or Electrical)
Incorporated Member of Engineering Institution
Outline and detailed design experience on water or wastewater projects
Knowledge of Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015

Cross-functional collaboration
