Location: Leeds, York & Along the A1
Salary: £53,000+ per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Senior Refrigeration Engineers to join a growing refrigeration business experiencing significant growth across new projects and long-term service contracts.
The business is looking for experienced CO₂ Refrigeration Engineers across Leeds, York and along the A1, offering competitive salaries, excellent benefits and long-term career development opportunities.
The Role
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing large-scale commercial and industrial refrigeration systems across a variety of sites, including:

Food processing and manufacturing facilities

Distribution centres and logistics sites

Large cold stores and warehouses

Factories, industrial facilities and ripening rooms
Systems will include CO₂, Freon and chilled water applications. Ammonia experience is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on refrigeration systems.

Diagnose and resolve refrigeration and electrical faults.

Ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.

Complete service reports and relevant documentation.

Follow Health & Safety procedures and approved working practices.

Liaise with customers and internal teams to deliver excellent service.

Manage workloads independently and meet deadlines.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum 5 years' refrigeration engineering experience.

Strong commercial or industrial refrigeration experience, particularly CO₂.

Previous Senior Engineer experience.

City & Guilds Refrigerant Handling / F-Gas 2079 qualification.

Strong electrical controls and fault-finding skills.

Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.

CSCS accreditation and MEWP experience.

Full UK driving licence.

Good communication, customer service and IT skills.
Salary & Benefits

£53,000+ basic salary, depending on experience.

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Flexible start and finish times.

Overtime paid after 40 hours.

Full door-to-door pay.

1 in 4 on-call rota, reducing as the team grows.

£225 weekly on-call standby payment.

33 days' holiday, including bank holidays.
