Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Overview

Join the Estates & Facilities team at Global Banking School (GBS) as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer . You’ll maintain, install, and refurbish building fabric and equipment across our UK campus portfolio, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient learning environments. This hands-on role combines planned and preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and support for refurbishment projects, with occasional out-of-hours work to minimise disruption.

What You’ll Do

• Planned & reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and building systems
• General trades: plumbing, electrical fittings, carpentry, decorating
• Inspections (HVAC, lighting, fire interfaces), PAT, fire door & Legionella checks
• Support refurbishments, installations, and campus upgrades
• Accurate records, stock control, and safe systems of work
• Travel and flexibility

What You’ll Bring

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
• City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard
• Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems
• Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques
• A flexible and proactive approach to work with “can do” attitude
• Familiarity with COSHH requirements for the equipment and chemicals being used
• Interpersonal skill and ability to work on your own but at the same time part of the facilities wider team
• Full, Clean Driving License
