Location: Nottingham, East Midlands
Permanent / Contract: Permanent
EMBS Talent is working in partnership with a global leader in intelligent transport technology, located in Nottingham, that is currently in the market for a Workshop Engineer to join their company on a permanent, full time basis.
Our client supplies IT, ticketing and fleet management systems for buses and trains. More than 1,100 transport operators across Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and Asia rely on their systems every day.
This is a role with genuine room for ideas and responsibility, offering the chance to shape the future of mobility, put your own ideas into practice and develop professionally within a collaborative, enthusiastic team.
As a Workshop Engineer, you will diagnose, repair, refurbish and test the electronic and electromechanical hardware that keeps public transport running, including on-board computers, driver touchscreen displays, ticket validators and ticket printers.
Based in the Nottingham repair workshop, you will carry out component-level PCB repairs, including through-hole and surface-mount work and IC replacement, and fix mechanical faults such as those in printer mechanisms. Around 80% of your time will be at the bench, with the remaining 20% on customer sites installing equipment and diagnosing faults on buses, trams and at tram stops.
Full product training is provided, including time at our client's international head office repair centre, with regular return visits to keep your skills sharp.
EMBS Group is a dedicated talent specialist that partners with some of the UK's most prestigious, advanced, precision engineering companies within the Aerospace, Automotive / Motorsport, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Green, Environmental, and FMCG industries.
We'll offer you expert support and advice throughout the process to ensure you select and secure a career-defining role.
Please note, due to the nature of the markets our client supplies into, all candidates must be UK residents; we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by EMBS Talent and told the client's identity before any introduction is made.
