Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

We are hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a mechanical engineering business based in Stretford, Manchester .

In this role, you will be designing bespoke components for the repair of water authority equipment, working closely with suppliers and the shopfloor to produce practical design solutions.

What’s on offer?

• GBP44,000 – GBP48,000 per annum
• Mon – Fri 7:30am 4pm
• Early finish on Fridays
• 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Standard pension

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer?

• Designing components for the repair of water authority equipment
• Measuring existing parts to create new replacement components
• Producing designs using SolidWorks
• Using AutoCAD when required
• Creating designs for laser cutting and folding
• Working on bespoke design projects
• Requesting and reviewing quotes from suppliers
• Liaising with the shopfloor throughout the design and manufacturing process

What will you need?

• Previous experience designing mechanical components for repairs
• SolidWorks experience
• Confidence working on bespoke design projects
• Ability to communicate with suppliers and shopfloor teams
• AutoCAD experience (not essential)
• HNC qualification (not essential)
