Sr. Software Engineer - Customer Facing Applied AI

Overview

In this role you build AI-powered agents and tools from idea to production, working closely with clients to understand their workflows and validate AI behavior. You will prototype rapidly, design LLM integrations, and ship features that become product-wide capabilities. The position sits within a newly formed Applied AI team that shapes what we ship and collaborates with core engineering. Expect client-facing engagements and a mix of development, experimentation, and production responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered agents and tools end-to-end from client problem to production
• Design and implement LLM integrations including prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows
• Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for AI systems with ambiguous, domain-specific correctness
• Work directly with clients to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and iterate toward production quality
• Collaborate with core engineering teams to generalize client-specific work into product features
• Contribute to shared AI infrastructure (agent frameworks, tool integrations, deployment pipelines)
• Monitor and maintain production AI systems with focus on reliability, cost, and performance

Key requirements

• Extensive professional software engineering experience
• Professional experience with Python
• Experience with LLM APIs including function calling and structured outputs
• Comfort with SQL for data exploration and building data-grounded AI workflows
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar)
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience
