Software Engineer - Customer Facing Applied AI

Overview

In this role, you build AI-powered agents and tools from idea to production, collaborating with clients and engineering to harden solutions. You prototype quickly, evaluate rigorously, and ship to production, shaping AI capabilities used by clients. You work closely with users to validate AI behavior and iterate toward scalable product features. The role blends hands-on experimentation with production responsibilities in a fast, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end AI-powered agents and tools for client projects, from problem framing to production deployment
• Design and implement LLM integrations, including prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows
• Define evaluation criteria and create test harnesses for AI systems with ambiguous domain correctness
• Collaborate with clients to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and iterate toward production quality
• Partner with core engineering to generalize client-specific work into reusable product features
• Contribute to shared AI infrastructure, including agent frameworks, tool integrations, and deployment pipelines
• Monitor and maintain production AI systems focusing on reliability, cost, and performance

Key requirements

• Professional software engineering experience
• Experience with Python (primary language)
• Experience with LLM APIs (Claude, GPT, or similar) including function calling and structured outputs
• Proficiency with SQL for data exploration and data-grounded AI workflows
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar)
• Experience taking projects from prototype to production
• Client-facing mindset and ability to translate feedback into deliverables
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience
