Senior Underwriter // ATE Insurance

Overview

In this role you will underwrite ATE insurance risks for funded litigation and disputes. You will collaborate with litigation funders, law firms, brokers and claims advisers to structure insurance solutions that support funded strategies. You will contribute to the firm’s underwriting strategy and help grow the platform’s presence in the litigation risk market. This is a capitalised, high-growth environment where you shape outcomes on complex, high-value disputes with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite ATE insurance risks and assess merits of underlying claims
• Structure insurance solutions to back funded litigation strategies
• Develop and maintain relationships with litigation funders, claimant law firms and intermediaries
• Originate new opportunities and support growth of the ATE offering
• Contribute to the firm’s broader underwriting strategy in the litigation risk market
• Collaborate with funders, law firms, brokers and claims advisers across disputes

Key requirements

• Direct experience in the litigation funding market (funder, ATE insurer, specialist broker or disputes advisory)
• Strong understanding of dynamics between funders, insurers and claimant firms in funded litigation
• Experience in underwriting ATE and related litigation risk
• Track record in building and managing sector relationships
