We've been retained by a specialty lines broking and risk manager practice with global reach, advising private equity houses, funds, corporates and law firms on the structuring and placement of transactional, contingent and litigation risk insurance. As insurance becomes a standard tool for funders, claimants and law firms managing disputes exposure, they are looking to build critical mass in the litigation risk space and appoint a Senior Broker to help drive it forward. This is a rare route for an experienced litigator or litigation funder to put their case-assessment judgment to commercial use, sitting on the side of the table that prices, structures and transfers the risk rather than running it. Prior broking experience is not required, as the insurance side of the role is fully supported, and you will join a team drawn from legal backgrounds who have made a similar move. You will originate, structure and place litigation risk insurance across single-case and portfolio risks. That spans cover for adverse costs exposure in litigation and arbitration, policies that protect the value of a successful judgment or award against reversal on appeal, capital protection for litigation funds on a single or multi-case basis, cover for law firms' fee exposure on contingency arrangements, protection against a sovereign's failure to pay an arbitral award, and insurance supporting court-ordered cross-undertakings in damages. You will also work across the wider contingent risk proposition, where known disputes and legal issues threaten to derail transactions, and build your network across funders, disputes practices, claimants and the insurer market. We're keen to speak with experienced litigators, from private practice or in-house, or litigation funders with strong merits and quantum assessment skills, the ability to structure commercial outcomes for single-case and portfolio risks, and an established network across the disputes and funding market. Above all, you will bring the commercial appetite to build a book rather than simply service one.Candidates are drawn to this move for the absence of billable hours, with success measured on outcomes rather than time recorded, and for the chance to deploy their technical judgment commercially while owning high-value decisions. The work offers broader variety than a single disputes practice, a hybrid and flexible working pattern with genuine agency over your time, and the platform and backing of an established broking house with global reach, meaning you are set up for success with access to real growth opportunity, domestically and internationally.Visit the IDEX Consulting Ltd website for further opportunities.
