In this role you will lead fire protection design for varied projects, translating client needs into safe, code-compliant solutions. You will act as a technical lead within AECOM Building & Places, shaping fire safety strategies and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll manage design packages, calculations, and commissioning-related activities while maintaining strong client engagement. Responsibilities
Prepare design packages for various RIBA stages, including drawings, specifications, reports and hydraulic calculations
Prepare Fire Suppression Systems solutions for building and industrial applications
Perform calculations for sprinkler water supplies and gas suppression quantities
Lead remote project delivery teams
Prepare fee proposals for Fire systems design at RIBA Stages 1-7
Conduct technical reviews
Assist technically in resolving design problems including field investigations or inspections
Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, authorities, contractors and third parties
Project manage the delivery of projects of varying scale
Key requirements
Intermediate-level written and oral communication skills
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Relevant degree or professional qualification
Work experience within a similar consultancy or relevant business
Knowledge of British and International design standards and Building regulations
Knowledge and experience of Fire Suppression Systems (Automatic Sprinkler, Water Mist, Gaseous, Wet/Dry Rise, Hydrants, Hose Reels, Hypoxic)
Proficiency with software for Fire Suppression Systems design (Word; Excel; CAD; REVIT; Hydraulics software)
