Estimating Associate Director/ Project Director Defence

Overview

In this role you will lead and manage the production of accurate estimates and cost plans for defence-focused projects, collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams. You will promote best-practice estimating within the Estimating team and align with departmental objectives. You will support bids and pursue new business opportunities, mentoring staff and interfacing with clients and consultants. This is a senior position within a leading infrastructure and defence consultancy, offering impact on major programmes across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead or manage production of accurate estimates and cost plans for projects/programmes
• Promote estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend
• Support or lead bids for new work
• Provide direction to staff and act as role model
• Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages
• Identify and act on cross-selling opportunities
• Staff management where appropriate
• Knowledge management and sharing

Key requirements

• Proven Estimating Leadership experience
• Defence sector estimating experience
• Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience
• Experience with estimating software packages
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A Cost E.
• Experience on Major Programmes and Projects
• Experience in leading and managing teams
