Associate Director – Estimating – Water Sector

Overview

As Associate Director in our Estimating team, you will lead the production of accurate cost plans for water sector projects and major programmes. You will drive estimating best practice and support regional growth, collaborating with directors and clients to shape bids and programmes. You will develop junior staff, manage cross-functional interfaces, and seek new business opportunities. This role offers remote-working options within the region and a chance to influence adoption of estimating standards across Turner & Townsend. You will contribute to high-impact projects that improve client outcomes in water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production of accurate estimates and cost plans for water sector projects and programmes
• Promote and develop estimating best practice aligned with Vision 2030
• Support regional strategic goals and department objectives
• Stay current with technical developments in estimating
• Collaborate with Directors to prepare bids for new work
• Provide direction and mentorship to estimating staff
• Develop junior team members and facilitate knowledge sharing
• Interface with clients and other consultants across project stages
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and cross-selling
• Staff management where appropriate and contribute to knowledge management

Key requirements

• Qualified in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience
• Proven experience with estimating software packages
• Experience on major water sector programmes and projects
• Experience in leading and managing teams
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / ACostE
