Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer at Mott MacDonald Bentley, you will shape civil design across major water and wastewater schemes from feasibility to commissioning. You will collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to deliver safe, compliant and buildable solutions that fit current standards. You will engage with clients to support goals through a one-team approach and mentor junior engineers. This role offers the chance to impact water infrastructure, support Thames Water’s extended workload, and drive sustainable design with digital tools.

Responsibilities

Provide design support ensuring schemes are fit for purpose and compliant with legislation and standards
Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, safe design solutions
Engage with clients to align on aims and foster a one-team approach
Manage civil design interfaces with other disciplines and produce integrated documentation
Act as technical checker and conduct technical reviews across projects
Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes including standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools
Conduct site reviews to verify buildability and integration with existing systems
Support development of the civil engineering team through mentoring and resource allocation

Key requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution
Experience delivering high-quality outputs aligned with design, quality and safety standards
