The Opportunity This role is ideal for a Highway Engineer with at least 3 years' industry experience, looking to play a key role in a growing highways team delivering a wide range of urban realm, active travel, traffic and transport infrastructure schemes. You'll be involved in projects from initial feasibility and concept development through to detailed design and implementation, working on challenging and often high-profile schemes for both public and private sector clients. What You'll Be Doing Leading and supporting the development of highway and streetscape designs in urban environmentsDelivering schemes across active travel, public realm, traffic, and transportation projectsProducing detailed design packages using AutoCADWorking on projects from feasibility stage through to implementationApplying relevant design standards and guidance including DMRB, TfL streetscape guidance, LTN 1/20, LCDS and TSRGDManaging and coordinating Statutory Undertaker plant diversion processes, from initial searches through to quotations and implementationPreparing technical reports and documentation for clients and stakeholdersCollaborating closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, sub-consultants and stakeholdersSupporting project delivery in complex and fast-paced London environmentsContributing to project planning, coordination and the overall successful delivery of schemesRequirements To be considered for this role, you should have: A relevant degree in Civil Engineering (or similar), postgraduate qualification, or equivalent professional experienceAt least 3 years of industry experience within highways / transport infrastructure designExperience developing highway designs in line with:DMRBTfL streetscape guidanceLTN 1/20Strong AutoCAD skills with the ability to produce high-quality drawings and design packagesExperience managing Statutory Undertaker diversion processes from searches through to implementationA solid understanding of CDM 2015 requirements for Designers / Principal DesignersStrong communication skills and confidence working with clients, colleagues, contractors, sub-consultants and stakeholdersA proactive mindset with the ability to use initiativeThe ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment, particularly on challenging urban schemesDesirable Experience The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:Experience mentoring or supporting junior team membersAbility to take a lead role in project deliveryWorking knowledge of Civil 3DExperience collaborating with other disciplines, such as urban designKnowledge of SuDS and raingarden designWorking towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or above with a relevant professional bodyWhy Apply?
