Business Development Manager

Our client, a well-established business within the manufacturing and engineering industry, based in Tewkesbury, has an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis due to business growth. This is a stand-alone Business Development position, covering customers across the UK, primarily throughout England, with the majority of the role being field-based.

The successful Business Development Manager should have:

• Proven experience within a business development, sales or account management role, ideally within a manufacturing or technical environment
• Previous experience within the rubber or plastics industry would be highly desirable, or experience selling manufacturing services to other businesses
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to develop relationships with customers at all levels
• A proactive and target-driven approach to identifying new business opportunities and developing existing accounts
• The flexibility to travel extensively across the UK, primarily throughout England, including occasional overnight stays

In this role, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for:

• Generating new business through proactive outbound calls and developing relationships with new and existing customers
• Arranging and attending customer meetings across the UK, primarily throughout England, both face to face and via Teams
• Developing new leads and growing the company's client base through strong, long-term customer relationships
• Maintaining accurate CRM records and ensuring all sales activity and management reporting is completed in a timely manner
• Attending exhibitions and conferences, using LinkedIn and other social media platforms to develop a strong professional network and increase brand awareness

This is a predominantly field-based role, with the Business Development Manager regularly travelling across the UK, primarily throughout England, to meet with customers and develop new business opportunities. When not travelling, the successful candidate will work from the company's Tewkesbury office, with occasional visits to the company's office in Scotland. The role will also involve occasional overnight stays depending on customer and business requirements.

Our client is offering the successful Business Development Manager a salary in the region of £40,000
