Business Development Manager

Location: Remote, covering the South of England
Salary: Up to £75,000 + bonus + company car

The opportunity

Envisage Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Business Development Manager on behalf of an engineering and manufacturing business looking to grow its presence in the aerospace sector.

This is an opportunity for someone who combines a strong aerospace network with the commercial drive to win new business and build lasting customer relationships. You could be an experienced Business Development Manager or a successful Key Account Manager ready to take on greater responsibility for new business growth.

Working remote, you will cover the South of England and visit the company's Cambridge offices when required.

The role

You will take ownership of the sales process, from identifying opportunities and opening doors through to securing business and developing accounts.

• Identifying and winning new business within the aerospace sector.
• Using your industry network to build relationships with relevant decision-makers.
• Developing a pipeline of opportunities aligned with the company's manufacturing capabilities.
• Working with engineering and operational colleagues to understand customer requirements and develop suitable proposals.
• Managing opportunities through quotation, negotiation and order placement.
• Growing customer accounts by building long-term relationships and identifying further opportunities.
• Maintaining accurate sales forecasts and reporting on pipeline activity.

About you

• A strong network within the aerospace sector.
• Experience in business development, technical sales or key account management within engineering or manufacturing.
• Evidence of winning new business or growing significant customer accounts.
• The confidence to engage with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
• The ability to manage a sales opportunity from initial conversation through to close.
• A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel across your territory and attend occasional meetings in Cambridgeshire.
• An engineering background, particularly involving machining, fabrication, welding or pressing, would be a significant advantage.

We also welcome applications from Key Account Managers who can demonstrate the commercial ability and ambition to move into a role with greater responsibility for winning new business.
