Knowsley Council is looking for an experienced and passionate Children’s Social Worker to join its friendly and supportive Children with Disabilities Team. The team provides specialist social work support to disabled children and young people up to the age of 18, helping them and their families access the right services and achieve positive outcomes.
You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, assessing children’s needs, developing tailored support plans and working collaboratively with families and other professionals to promote children’s safety, wellbeing and development.
Experience working specifically with children with disabilities is desirable but not essential, as training, supervision and ongoing professional development will be provided.
This is a hybrid role based at Nutgrove Villa in Huyton, with an expectation to attend the office for a minimum of three days per week. Knowsley Council offers flexible working options, including part-time hours, reduced hours and condensed working patterns, subject to service requirements.
Knowsley Council is committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and families through supportive leadership, manageable caseloads and high-quality supervision.
You will benefit from a well-established Social Work Academy, ongoing training, reflective supervision and opportunities for professional development. You will also be part of a collaborative team with dedicated management support, where your professional judgement and ideas can contribute to the continued development of the service.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of disabled children and their families while developing your career within a supportive local authority.
Knowsley Council welcomes applications from qualified and registered Social Workers who are passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children and families. Applications are encouraged from all backgrounds.
