About Hall & Woodhouse - Sunday Times Best Place to Work

Hall & Woodhouse is the Dorset based brewer that owns over 150 high end pub restaurants and inns throughout the South of England. Founded in 1777 we are a family owned company that blends the best traditional values with a progressive and inclusive approach to business.

Friendly, Lively Monmouth Ash
Part of the Hall & Woodhouse family of exceptional community pubs, located in the town of Verwood between the New Forest and Cranborne Chase, the Monmouth Ash is a perfect example of a friendly, quality English village pub. Steeped in history it still has a lot of its original features like the traditional oak beams, open fires and flagstone floors. The pub’s name, unique in Britain, commemorates the 1685 capture of the Duke of Monmouth (Charles II’s bastard son) in Verwood, after his rebellion was defeated.
