HGV Driver / Crew Leader

About the Role

We are looking for reliable and safety-conscious HGV Drivers / Crew Leaders to join the team. The role involves operating heavy goods vehicles, carrying out daily vehicle safety checks, leading a small crew and delivering a high-quality service to residents.

You will be working in a physically demanding environment and must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Key Requirements

Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) driving licence and Driver Qualification Card (CPC) – essential.

3.5-tonne to 7.5-tonne driving experience is also required.

Experience carrying out vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance to ensure vehicles remain legally roadworthy.

Good understanding of health and safety procedures and road safety when working in traffic and public environments.

Experience or ability to lead a small crew, provide clear instructions and manage daily performance.

Competent using in-cab systems, electronic devices and software to record service delivery, incidents and relevant information.

Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and interact professionally with members of the public.

Flexible and physically fit, with the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and in all weather conditions.
