Salary: £40,000–£60,000 per annum + generous commission/bonus structure

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Insurance Sales Executive to join our team in Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established insurance professional with at least 5 years' experience in the commercial insurance sector, who is passionate about winning new business, developing client relationships and growing an existing portfolio.

With a generous basic salary of £40,000–£60,000, alongside a generous commission and bonus structure, this role offers excellent earning potential for someone who can combine outstanding client service with a strong commercial mindset.

You will play a key role in driving business growth, strengthening client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand our commercial insurance offering.

Key Responsibilities

• New Business Development: Proactively identify, pursue and secure new commercial insurance business opportunities.
• Account Management: Manage, retain and develop an existing portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
• Client Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, insurers and key stakeholders.
• Cross-Selling & Upselling: Identify opportunities to introduce additional insurance products and expand existing client accounts.
• Renewals & Retention: Oversee the renewal process, negotiate competitive terms and maintain high levels of client retention.
• Insurance Advice: Understand clients' businesses and insurance requirements to help ensure they have appropriate cover in place.
• Insurer Negotiations: Liaise with insurers to negotiate competitive premiums, policy terms and coverage.
• Business Growth: Work towards sales, revenue and retention targets, contributing to the continued success of the business.
• Market Awareness: Keep up to date with commercial insurance products, industry developments and emerging business opportunities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced commercial insurance professional with a proven ability to manage client relationships, identify opportunities and deliver commercial results.

Essential requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience within the commercial insurance industry.
• Previous experience in commercial insurance account management, account executive or broking roles.
• Demonstrable experience in developing client relationships and managing commercial insurance accounts.
• Experience in generating new business and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach with a focus on achieving results.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied client portfolio.

Desirable:

• Cert CII qualified — advantageous but not essential.
• Experience working towards sales targets and growing an existing book of commercial insurance business.
