Position Details

Job Title: Humanities Teacher

Location: Rossendale area, Lancashire

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing

Daily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68 per day

About the Humanities Teacher Role

Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4

Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of abilities

Teach relevant areas of History, Geography, Religious Education and/or other Humanities subjects, depending on experience and timetable

Develop students' knowledge, critical thinking and understanding of key Humanities concepts

Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback

Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department

Contribute to wider school activities and departmental development

The Ideal Humanities Teacher Will

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification

Have experience teaching Humanities at secondary level

Be confident planning and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

Be committed to supporting the progress and development of all learners

Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people

Provide details of the 2 most recent references, covering the last 5 years' work history

Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registration

Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks
