Location: UK - Hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite per week) Contract: 12 Months - Fixed Term Positions: Multiple opportunities Job Description We are recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer to join a Core Banking Platform engineering team, developing and maintaining business-critical retail banking applications. The successful candidate will work with Unisys mainframe technologies, supporting software development, application enhancements, troubleshooting and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and enhance software applications using Unisys COBOL and DMS 1100.
Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Investigate application issues, troubleshoot existing software and implement necessary fixes.
Assess and communicate the impact of changes on interfacing systems.
Support system testing and integration testing activities.
Participate in Agile delivery processes, including daily stand-ups and project updates.
Essential Skills and Experience
Minimum 6 years of experience working with Unisys mainframes.
Strong COBOL programming experience.
Hands-on experience with DMS 1100 hierarchical databases.
Functional knowledge of retail banking.
Experience with batch processing and job scheduling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
C programming experience.
Good communication and leadership abilities.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new requirements
