Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer to join a Consumer Servicing and Engagement team within a major financial services environment. This is a hands-on mobile engineering role focused on designing, developing and maintaining secure, scalable and high-performance Android applications . The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kotlin, Flutter, Android Studio, Jetpack Compose and Material Design , alongside experience building modern Android user interfaces, integrating APIs and delivering production-ready mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain Android mobile applications using Kotlin and Flutter .
Build modern, responsive user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and Material Design .
Develop and maintain Android components including Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers and Content Providers .
Apply architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, MVC and Clean Architecture .
Integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL services and third-party platforms .
Implement push notifications, background services and application lifecycle management .
Optimise application performance, responsiveness, memory management and stability .
Debug and resolve application issues across different Android versions and devices .
Develop automated unit and UI tests using JUnit and Espresso .
Build reusable Android components and contribute to shared mobile libraries.
Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering standards.
Collaborate with designers, backend developers and product teams to deliver secure, production-ready applications.
Support application builds, testing and deployment processes.
