Lead Technical Security Engineer - SC Cleared

We are looking for an experienced Lead Technical Security Engineer to support complex cybersecurity remediation and security improvement initiatives across government and public sector environments.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on strengthening cyber resilience, improving security controls and delivering practical remediation solutions across Microsoft security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical security remediation activities across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Design, implement and optimise security solutions using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Purview, Entra ID and Intune.
• Strengthen Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), MFA and Conditional Access controls.
• Implement Zero Trust, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), endpoint security and threat detection capabilities.
• Develop security monitoring, automation and detection solutions using Microsoft Sentinel and KQL.
• Translate security assessments, vulnerabilities and audit findings into actionable remediation plans.
• Work closely with security architects, engineers and senior stakeholders to deliver sustainable security improvements.
• Ensure solutions align with NCSC guidance, Secure by Design principles and government security standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Microsoft security technologies, particularly Sentinel, Defender, Purview and Entra ID .
• Strong expertise in Azure and Microsoft 365 security architecture.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale security remediation and engineering solutions.
• In‑depth understanding of IAM, Zero Trust, cloud security, DLP and security operations.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting complex hybrid and cloud environments.
