AI Engineer - Investment Management

London Source: WhatJobs
£90,000–£140,000

You get to build AI that actually matters, inside a firm whose profits go to charity.

This asset manager manages $60 billion in assets and is owned in perpetuity by a philanthropic foundation. There are no outside shareholders, no parent bank, and no pressure to chase short-term targets. The firm has been quietly excellent for decades, and the work you do here ultimately funds good in the world.

The tech team is around 100 people inside a firm of 400. You sit within that team but spend your time embedded with the business, working directly alongside the people who run client and operational functions day to day.

This is not about automating small tasks or tidying up workflows at the edges. You are expected to look at things end to end, think with imagination, and identify where AI can genuinely transform how people work.

You will build lightweight tools and automations, work hands-on with agentic workflows, MCP, prompt engineering and AI-assisted coding, and know when something needs handing off to the wider engineering team rather than solved quickly in isolation.

The conversations you have matter as much as the code you write. You will be working with non-technical people constantly, so the ability to listen, translate and communicate clearly is just as important as your technical ability.

This would be a great step up from a first serious engineering role into somewhere that gives you real autonomy, genuine variety and the space to keep developing.

You will have a solid grounding in software, data and systems, and real fluency with modern AI tools across the stack.

Ready to build something that means more than the bottom line?
