My Client, a technically strong and highly skilled, Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy in Birmingham, seek a Principal or Associate level Structural Engineer to join their growing Team. The successful Candidate will be directly supporting the Structures Director and will take a lead role in the Structural Engineering Team. It offers an excellent opportunity to join a Consultancy who is at a very exciting stage of growth!

My Client is seeking an ambitious and technically strong individual who is keen to grow within a business and still further their career. They will provide you with an opportunity to take on expanding responsibilities as you develop into the role and play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the Business.

It is essential that you are a Structural Engineer with the ability and desire to lead projects, as this will play a key part in the role of Principal or Associate Engineer. MyClient will fully support you in your development across a range of projects, sectors and Clients.

Role Requirements

Masters in Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar educational background)
Chartered with MIStructE or MICE (or relevant institution)
Recent structural engineering, consultancy led experience
Prior experience of working within the Midlands market is ideal as it will give you knowledge and understanding of the local market and projects

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Technical ownership and responsibility of structural calculations, drawings, reports and structural design documents produced by yourself, or coordinating and reviewing work completed by others
Analysis of technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposals and procedures, and devising new approaches / solutions
Strong building appraisal and report writing skills
Support Team Members in their own technical development
Attend site visits to review projects and the construction process
Present and discuss technical solutions
Develop fee proposals and project cost estimates
Follow and contribute to the Business's high standards of project delivery, adding value to schemes they deliver
