Retail Change Manager – Fashion, Home & Beauty Space Planning

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced FH&B Change Manager to be based at their client’s office in London, UK
This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the London office 3 days per week.
This is a 12 month temporary contract to start asap
Day rate: Competitive Market rate
The Role:
The FH&B Change Manager will lead and embed the people and business change associated with a major system implementation across Fashion, Home & Beauty Space Planning and Retail Operations. The role will drive engagement, readiness and sustained adoption of new tools, processes and ways of working, helping central users, retail teams and wider stakeholders transition to a data-led planning and decision-making approach.
- Lead a major system-enabled transformation that will reshape planning and decision-making across Fashion, Home & Beauty.
- Bring central and retail teams together to build readiness, confidence and sustained adoption of new ways of working.
- Use data, collaboration and clear communication to turn complex change into practical business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own the end-to-end change approach for the system implementation, including mapping current and future processes.
- Translate system and process changes into clear, people-focused change plans aligned to programme milestones, cutover and go-live.
- Lead early and ongoing engagement with Retail, central teams and operational audiences to support adoption of new planning, decision-making and execution approaches.
- Act as the bridge between central teams and operational stakeholders, ensuring feedback is captured, addressed and reflected in change activity.
- Identify and manage stakeholders across FH&B, Space Planning, Retail Operations, Product and Technology teams.
- Partner with subject matter experts, Super Users and Product teams to align change activity, delivery priorities and messaging.
- Develop and deliver clear, consistent communications that explain what is changing, why, when and how teams will work differently.
- Assess change impacts across roles, processes, behaviours and systems, identifying readiness risks, resistance and operational pinch points.
- Define and deliver targeted interventions that mitigate change risks and build confidence ahead of go-live.
- Embed change into business-as-usual activity and monitor readiness and adoption to support sustained ways of working.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience supporting business change, operational activity, project coordination, analysis, documentation or stakeholder follow-up.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to integrate quickly into operational teams and build trust with subject matter experts, managers and cross-functional partners.
- Highly organised and dependable, able to manage varied tasks, changing priorities and multiple stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail.
- Practical and proactive, with the confidence to step into activity where the business needs support.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to turn complexity into actions, updates and recommendations for different audiences.
- Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to work through ambiguity and maintain momentum as priorities shift.
- A collaborative, team-focused approach and an understanding of the need to protect business continuity during transformation.
- Good understanding of retail Space Planning activity, including macro space, grading, store layouts, space performance, concessions, tactical space and seasonal change.
- Ability to interpret commercial, operational and space data to support recommendations and decision-making.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and OneNote.
Desirable:
- Understanding of store operations, retail critical paths and the practical impact of space decisions.
- Experience using planning trackers or workflow tools such as Monday.com, Planner or equivalent.
- Awareness of Space Planning systems and reporting tools such as Blue Yonder/JDA, RELEX and Power BI; role-specific system knowledge can be developed in post.
