We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering business that designs and manufactures specialist electro-mechanical products for industrial applications.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assemblies and Bills of Materials (BOMs), working closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Sales teams to deliver robust, cost-effective design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
Develop assemblies, sub-assemblies and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Design sheet metal and electro-mechanical products for manufacture
Support product testing, validation and continuous improvement activities
Maintain engineering documentation, drawing registers and version control
Work with suppliers and internal teams to support product and cost improvements
Ensure designs comply with relevant quality and industry standards
About You
Essential:
Minimum 5 years' industrial design experience
Strong SolidWorks experience (essential)
Experience producing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and mechanical assemblies
Experience creating and managing BOMs
Desirable:
AutoCAD, EPLAN or ERP system experience
Electro-mechanical product design experience
Knowledge of EMC requirements and AC/DC systems
Experience within switchgear, control panels, power distribution or related industries
