Tendering Engineer

Overview

We are currently seeking a Proposals/Tendering Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality tenders and cost proposals for mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects in the water industry (both clean and wastewater sectors). Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and complete tender submissions for M&E projects in the water sector.
• Interpret technical documentation, drawings, and client specifications to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams (engineering, procurement, and delivery) to gather technical and commercial input.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotations for inclusion in tender packages.
• Ensure all proposals comply with client requirements, company procedures, and relevant industry standards.
• Support pre- and post-tender clarification processes, including attending site visits and client meetings as required.
• Maintain and improve pricing models, templates, and cost databases to support estimating efficiency.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• Strong initiative, reliability, and punctuality
• Proven ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strategic thinking and commercial awareness
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
