Infrastructure Engineer
M1, Manchester, Greater Manchester
We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing internal IT team, supporting and developing a modern Microsoft-based…
We’re supporting a high-profile, customer-facing organisation undergoing a significant shift in its infrastructure operating model. As part of that change, they are bringing key third-line capability back in-house and are looking for two experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineers to join on an initial six-month contract.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who is comfortable working across a broad infrastructure estate, picking up both BAU support and project work, and operating in an environment where priorities can change quickly. You’ll be expected to investigate issues, take ownership and work across technologies rather than operate within a narrow specialist remit.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
The ideal person will have strong Microsoft/Azure infrastructure experience, good networking knowledge and the ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment. Experience with legacy estates is important, as is the confidence to investigate technologies you may not have worked with extensively before.
This is not a role for someone who wants a tightly defined silo. The successful contractors will need to be adaptable, pragmatic and comfortable getting involved wherever needed.
Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential to extend
Location: London / Hybrid, with occasional travel to UK sites
Start: ASAP
