Sales Consultant – Fashion Jewellery, STORY by Rivoli
Reports to: Store Manager
Location: 21 King Street, St Helier, Jersey JE2 4WF
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 9.15 – 17.30 and Saturday (day off during the week) 8.45 – 17.00
Join our team at STORY! We’re looking for a sales-orientated, reliable Sales Consultant with a genuine interest in fashion, trends and jewellery. You’ll represent major brands including Swarovski, D.Louise, Nomination, Ti Sento, PDPaola, Daisy London and more, helping customers find the perfect piece.
We’re after someone customer-focused, confident, reliable and passionate about retail, with the drive to hit sales targets and the initiative to keep learning new collections. Previous jewellery or fashion accessory experience is a bonus, but full training is provided.

The Successful Candidate Must Have
- A strongly sales-orientated mindset, with drive and motivation to achieve and exceed personal and store sales targets
- Proven experience in a customer-facing retail sales role
- A reliable, punctual and dependable approach to work
- A genuine interest in fashion, jewellery and emerging trends, with enthusiasm for keeping up to date with new collections
- A genuine passion for retail and for delivering an outstanding level of customer service
- The confidence to respond empathetically and intuitively to customers’ needs
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- A well-rounded, adaptable approach — equally comfortable being operationally minded and customer minded
- Own initiative, and an active interest in seeking out opportunities to learn and develop
- A high standard of personal presentation
- Experience in jewellery or fashion accessory sales is highly advantageous; full product training will be provided
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Acknowledge and warmly welcome all customers who enter the store
- Provide a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service at all times
- Advise customers on product ranges, prices and stock availability, liaising with manufacturers and suppliers where necessary
- Take in customer repairs, log them accurately and keep customers informed of progress
- Maintain full familiarity with our customer order and exchange policy so customers can be advised confidently
- Keep up to date with current promotions and communicate these effectively to customers
- Hold comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of our full brand range — including Swarovski, D.Louise, Nomination, Ti Sento, PDPaola and Daisy London — including new lines as they are introduced
- Use effective questioning techniques to identify each customer’s needs and guide them to the right product
- Maximise sales opportunities through confident link selling and add-on sales
- Present a professional image when using the till, processing sales and handling all till functions competently
Team & Store Support
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a welcoming and well-presented store environment
- Assist with stock replenishment, merchandising and general housekeeping of the shop floor and displays
- Follow all store procedures relating to security, cash handling and stock control
- Support the wider team in achieving store sales targets and KPIs
- Be receptive to feedback and coaching, and apply this to continually improve performance
- Take an active interest in learning new brands and product lines and expanding product knowledge
- Seek out opportunities to take on additional responsibility as experience grows
- Work towards the skills and experience required to progress to a Senior Sales Consultant role
