Be the first response when our customers need us most!
Be the first response when our customers need us most! As our Lead Gas Engineer, you'll play a vital role within our Emergency Response team, helping to keep customers safe when they need us most. This isn't just about responding to gas escapes and carbon monoxide alarms – it's about providing reassurance, expertise and support during critical situations.
You'll often be the first person on the scene, acting as the face of Cadent and delivering a professional, customer-focused service. Whether you're supporting vulnerable customers, working alongside the emergency services or resolving gas-related issues in homes and businesses, you'll make a real difference every day.
Covering the Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire areas, you'll work across a varied operational patch, supporting customers and communities whenever and wherever you're needed.
This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to work across emergency response, metering activities, safety inspections and network operations while leading by example and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer care. The role also includes participation in a 1-in-4 standby rota, ensuring support is available when our customers need us most.
Interviews will be held Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th October at Huntingdon depot.
While the closing date is set as mentioned, we reserve the right to close the application process earlier if necessary, depending on the unique circumstances of each role.
At Cadent, we’re thrilled to be part of the future of UK energy! We have a clear roadmap to drive our performance to the forefront of our industry and support the UK government in achieving its net zero targets by 2050. We’re making a difference through innovation and new ways of working. Together, we’re shaping a cleaner, greener future for our 11 million customers, whom we put at the heart of everything we do.
We support a healthy work-life balance and are open to flexible working options.
Don’t meet every requirement? No problem! If you’re excited about this opportunity but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification mentioned, we would still love for you to submit your application – you may just be the right person for this role or other opportunities at Cadent.
We value diversity and are committed to being an equitable employer. Our employee communities – Women in Cadent, Pride at Work (LGBTQ+), Embrace (ethnicity and religion), Thrive! (disability), the Cadent Military Community, the Grief Awareness Community, and the Men’s Engagement Network (M.E.N) – can’t wait to welcome you!
As a proud Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum essential criteria for the vacancy. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process and we will ensure that support is provided.
