Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
Apply a systematic approach to fault finding to minimise production downtime.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support machinery installations, upgrades, testing and commissioning activities.
Work closely with Operations and other departments on engineering projects.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, environmental and food safety requirements.
Follow safe systems of work and lockout procedures where required.
Provide technical support across the wider production environment.
What you will need to succeed:
Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Maintenance or a related discipline.
Strong electrical maintenance experience with sound mechanical knowledge.
Previous Maintenance Engineering experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
Proven experience with both PPM and reactive maintenance.
Experience fault finding across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Experience working with production machinery and plant equipment.
Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Basic understanding of PLC-controlled equipment, motor inverters and industrial control systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritise effectively during breakdown situations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Commitment to high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Additional electrical or mechanical qualifications.
Previous experience within food manufacturing or food processing.
Experience supporting machinery installation and commissioning.
Experience within a continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environment.
