Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Leeds, Huddersfield and surrounding areas

OTE: £39,813 per annum, before commission.

Job Description

This is a field-based engineering role, primarily servicing and repairing electric forklift trucks, with around 90% of the work involving electric lithium-powered trucks and EP electric trucks.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Attending customer sites to diagnose and repair forklift breakdowns.
• Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Repairing and maintaining electric forklift trucks.
• Working predominantly with lithium-powered and EP electric trucks.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Completing service reports and relevant engineering paperwork.
• Advising customers on repairs and replacement parts where required.
• Identifying opportunities to upsell and generate additional commission.
• Maintaining good customer relationships while representing the company professionally.

Experience You Will Need:

• Previous experience working with forklifts / forklift trucks is preferred.
• Experience in servicing, repairing or maintaining material handling equipment would be advantageous.
• Good mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge is essential.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
• A customer-focused and professional approach.
• Full training will be provided, including up to one month of training, so candidates with the right engineering background may also be considered.

Package:

• Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
• 30-minute lunch break
• Guaranteed 2.5 hours overtime per week
• OTE at around £39,813 per annum, before commission.
• Benefits:Van, fuel card, door-to-door travel, private healthcare, pension and 25 days + bank holidays are benefits on top of this and aren't included in the OTE figure.
