Day Shift / 7am to 5pm - Monday to Thursday

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established engineering manufacturer for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator ? Milling to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist with strong Heidenhain programming, setting and operating experience, particularly those with a background in machining medium to large fabrications and castings.

The Role

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating universal bed-type milling machines using a Heidenhain control system. The successful candidate will have solid experience with 3 and 4-axis machining and be confident working with a variety of materials, including:

Stainless steel
Aluminium
Mild steel
Cast iron

You will also need previous experience machining medium to large fabrications and castings.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Time-served apprenticeship or extensive relevant machining experience
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience producing precision components to high standards
Good knowledge of work-holding methods and tooling
Understanding of cutting parameters and machining processes
Experience programming directly on Heidenhain control systems
Experience working with universal milling heads
Ability to carry out your own inspection and work to tight tolerances
Experience working within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment
Experience machining large fabrications and castings
Safe use of overhead cranes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
A flexible, reliable and team-focused approach

Hours

39 hours per week / 4-day working week

Monday to Wednesday: 7:00am to 5:00pm
Thursday: 7:00am to 4:00pm
Friday: Overtime available, subject to workload
There is also a requirement to be flexible with shifts where necessary to provide holiday cover.
