Commissioning Engineer – PLC / Automation / Control Systems
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone experienced in PLC programming, HMI systems, control panels and industrial automation .
The engineer will travel extensively to customer sites across the UK and overseas to install, test, programme and commission control systems.They will also fault-find problems, troubleshoot PLC/software issues and provide technical support to customers.
The role suits someone who is comfortable working independently on-site, dealing directly with customers and solving technical problems under pressure.
Main duties:
Programme and configure PLCs and HMIs
Commission control panels and automation systems
Test and fault-find electrical/control systems
Troubleshoot PLC, HMI and software issues
Provide on-site technical support
Work with engineering teams to complete projects
Key technical experience:
Siemens PLCs
Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs
COVI / CONVIO PLC systems
Siemens LOGO!
HMI programming
PLC programming
Control panels
Industrial automation
Electrical/control system fault-finding
Site commissioning
Important:
This is not primarily a workshop/design-based role .It is a site-based, customer-facing commissioning position with significant travel and potentially long periods away from home.
