An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Automation Engineer to join a well-established UK manufacturing business based in Barnsley.
As the business continues to invest heavily in automation, robotics, capital equipment and new technology, this is an excellent opportunity for a graduate engineer to play a key role in modernising manufacturing operations and delivering practical improvements across a complex production environment.
Working closely with manufacturing, engineering and operational teams, you will gain exposure to robotics, automation, PLC systems, process optimisation and continuous improvement, while taking responsibility for projects that deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality and productivity.
You will be involved in identifying, developing and implementing automation opportunities across manufacturing operations.
This role would suit a recent graduate or early-career engineer with a degree in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Ideally, you will have an interest in applying automation and robotics in a practical manufacturing environment, together with a willingness to learn and develop your technical skills.
A full UK driving licence, as occasional travel to other manufacturing sites will be required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate engineer looking to build a career in industrial automation and advanced manufacturing, gaining hands‑on experience with robotics, PLCs, process improvement and major engineering projects.
